Leanne Curry

Managing Director – JBC

Leanne started her career within the chemical industry, gaining a place on the AstraZeneca YPSDS (Young Person Sponsorship Development Scheme), whilst studying for her GCSEs at 15 years old.

Achieving her Mechanical Engineering Higher National Certificate (HNC) was a stand out during her 8 years with AstraZeneca before moving into operations, it was here that her passion for all things engineering, people, process and systems began!

Having had spells at Yorkshire Water and WB Power Services, Leanne now fulfils the role of Managing Director at JBC Industrial Services, a Wakefield based business, offering UK wide Service and Maintenance of steam boilers and combustion equipment.

Leanne is proud to have established herself in a predominately male environment, this has not always been plain sailing, at times battling stigma and perception.

Leanne is married and a very family orientated individual, typically seen at the side of a football pitch cheering on her son Toby. Running, gardening, and spending time with family and friends occupies most of her time; guilty pleasures are food and Leeds United.

Leanne joins us as a judge for the first time in 2025.
