Alistair McKinlay

Alistair is a Director, Solicitor and the Deputy-Head of the Residential Conveyancing department at Switalskis Solicitors, based in Wakefield.

He qualified as a solicitor in 1997 and specialises in all types of property related matters, with a particular focus on acting for clients buying and selling residential properties. His clients range from individuals to commercial investors and he manages and leads a team acting for clients across the country.

Alistair is also involved in the training, development and mentoring of colleagues and in the strategic planning and growth of the conveyancing department.

Outside of work, Alistair is Vice Chair of the Governing Body at the Wakefield Grammar School Foundation and is Chair of its “People Committee”.

He has recently joined the We are Wakefield ‘Pop Choir’ and enjoys singing with friends from the WAW community every Friday morning.

Alistair joins the Wakefield Business Awards judging panel for the first time in 2026.
